Over the weekend I drove down to my summer stomping grounds in northern Iron County for a camp photoshoot. (we say camp in the UP, not cabin). This one is on 10 acres surrounded by Ottawa National Forest.
When I was about 7 years old, my grandpa and uncles bought 80 acres and began building a hunting camp. The whole family has been enjoying that camp for over 20 years now. I consider it a second home in the summer. Warm summer nights, riding the trails, looking for new fishing spots, making bonfires, firing up the sauna. Can’t beat it.
Since starting this whole real estate photography thing, I’ve had the opportunity to explore different camps and see how they are built and decorated. I take a few ideas away from each place and store them in the back of my mind to bring back to our camp. They may come in handy for projects or upgrades someday.
